Congratulations to Missouri’s GABF 2017 Medal Winners
We could not be prouder of the seven Missouri breweries who won a medal at The 2017 Great American Beer Festival this past weekend! We have always recognized that Missouri is home to a plethora of good beer and talented brewers, but what an honor it is to receive bragging rights on a national stage.
The Great American Beer Festival takes place in Denver, Colorado and is where beer experts from around the world are carefully selected to judge 98 beer-style categories in a blind taste test. There are three medals to be awarded in each category that best represents each beer style (as decided by the Great American Beer Festival). The gold, silver, and bronze medals are symbols of brewing excellence representing first, second, and third place and are arguably one of the most coveted accolades in the brewing industry today.
Missouri managed to take home one gold, four silver, and three bronze medals in various beer-style categories out of 7,923 competitive entries. This year marked the festival’s 36th year anniversary with 60,000 people in attendance and the largest amount of American beer ever served.
The St. Louis Brewers Guild would like to formally congratulate Missouri’s 2017 GABF medal winners and recognize the incredible craft, skill, talent, and finesse this craft can require. Thank you to all of our brewers who daily synergize technique, creativity, and down right hard work to create an exceptional product for us to enjoy! Cheers to Missouri beer!
